Focus on the Foundation

As you may recall from my story of surviving a heart attack at the age of 31, I learned the hard way that ignoring the body's signals comes with consequences.

Last month, I shared a series of YouTube Shorts about my wake-up call, personal journey, and a style of yoga I’ve developed called Yoga to Thrive.

I’m excited to continue creating video content aimed at helping you enhance your body awareness, mobility, flexibility, strength, and balance. Today, we’re going to start by focusing on the feet.

Our feet serve as our foundation, but are they structurally sound? With 26 bones and three distinct arches, our feet are an engineering marvel. However, when they are confined in shoes and subjected to daily stress, our ankles, knees, and hips suffer as a result. The foot's ability to transition from a 'supple' mobile adapter upon impact to a 'rigid' lever for propulsion is crucial for protecting the knees and hips.

In the video above, we conduct an alignment audit from the ground up. By engaging all four corners of your feet, you don't just stand; you create a stable foundation for the rest of your body. Grounding through all four corners of the feet activates your entire kinetic chain. Watch the video to discover your "tripod" and experience the strength in your legs.

Did you feel your glutes or quads fire up when you pressed into the big toe mound? That’s alignment in action.

Your foundation is important. Let’s begin building a better one together. Continue the focus on your feet with the Toes Pose Challenge and Deep Tissue Release to Ease Foot Pain.
