April is Stress Awareness Month. Stress is a natural part of life, and there is certainly no shortage of stressors facing all of us at the moment. While not all stress is bad – in fact it can motivate us to get things done and make us stronger - chronic stress can lead to all sorts of health issues.
As Tim Ryan says in his book, Mindful Nation, "We can't have full control over all of the stress in our lives, of course, but we can reduce our conditioned, largely reactive habits and the patterns we revert to when we're confronted by perceived and real threats and challenges."
Throughout the month, I'll be sharing simple tools on social media to effectively manage your response to stressors, so be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook. Start by downloading these Five Quick Tips to Stress Less.
One way to combat stress is to focus on the good things in your life.
I invite you to do the Three Good Things practice with me for the next 14 days. At the end of each day, write down three things that went well in your day, and your role in making them happen.

Stress can be a contributing factor to physical pain in the neck, back and shoulders. If you're struggling with any of those, join me for this week's yoga workshop, Realign to Re-Energize.
If you work at a computer, or do a lot of texting or driving, you may be experiencing forward head posture that puts a lot of strain on the muscles of the neck and shoulders. Relieve that tension and realign your spine with this week's 75-minute online yoga workshop. The workshop is $25, and will be held via Zoom, so join from where you are! If you can't make it at the scheduled time, you will receive the recording.
