During this four-day adventure, we'll explore sacred vortex sites, ancient red rock formations, and evergreen forests within the over 1.8 million acres of national forest land surrounding the community. Nurture your relationship with nature and yourself during this unique experience, which celebrates Earth Day. The retreat includes daily yoga, hiking through the desert canyons of Red Rock Country, wine tasting in the Verde Valley, and enjoying delicious meals. Our cozy and charming accommodations are nestled amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Oak Creek Canyon, just north of the town center.

Those who want more time in Sedona are encouraged to attend the Sedona Yoga Festival, taking place from April 23 to 26. Let us know in your registration form if you're interested in the festival, and we'll look into a group discount for retreat participants.

What to Expect

During this three night / four day retreat in Oak Creek Canyon, you'll experience:

  • Daily yoga classes appropriate for all levels including vinyasa-style practice to energize and yin practice to recuperate and restore

  • Delicious meals beginning with dinner on Tuesday evening and ending with breakfast on Friday

​​

  • Three nights of lodging at Briar Patch Inn

​

  • Optional group hikes and other activities in the area, including wine tasting in Verde Valley

​A full schedule of meals, yoga classes, and group activities will be provided closer to the retreat dates.

The Details

Retreat rate includes:

  • 3 nights accommodations at Briar Patch Inn

  • 3 breakfasts, 1 packed lunch, and 3 dinners

  • Daily yoga sessions

Our host location is nestled amidst the stunning natural beauty of Oak Creek Canyon, providing a serene and picturesque retreat for nature enthusiasts and relaxation seekers.  

​

The historic cabins, built during the 1940s and furnished in a southwestern decor with Native American Art, are designed for comfort while maintaining their rustic charm and coziness. Each cabin's private patio provides a secluded place to relax while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of nature.

​

Briar Patch Inn offers a truly unique setting where guests can completely disconnect from their hectic lives, ideal for relaxation, rejuvenation, and a reconnection to nature. Telephones and televisions are excluded to ensure a peaceful environment. 

 

Included is a hearty, homemade breakfast of freshly baked bread, muffins, granola, oatmeal, quiche, eggs, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Each afternoon, enjoy homemade cookies with fresh fruit and hot mulled cider. ​

​

We will be staying in the Ponderosa Cabin, with four bedrooms, a full kitchen and two bathrooms, with WIFI, and the Butterfly Cabin, with three bedrooms, a full kitchen and two bathrooms. We can add another cabin if needed, but will cap the retreat at 15 participants.

Accommodation Options

Amounts shown represent the total investment for the retreat.

Shared Room (Double Occupancy) - $1,475/person

 

These rooms are for two people. One room has a king bed for a couple and three rooms have two full or twin beds. Lodge bathrooms are shared by all guests.

​

Private Room (Single Occupancy) - $1,575

​

These rooms are for one person and have one full or queen bed. Lodge bathrooms are shared by all guests.

​

If you're interested in booking the Wren cabin, please let us know! This cabin has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. You can book the full cabin for three people.

Payment Details and Cancelation Policy

To secure your space on the retreat, a non-refundable deposit of US $250 is required. A payment schedule will be provided upon registration. However, you may pay in full at any time before March 21, 2026.

 

Anyone registering after March 21, 2026, will be expected to pay in full upon registration. 

 

Should you need to cancel your reservation at least 30 days prior to the start of the retreat, you will receive a refund for payment made minus the $250 deposit. Should you need to cancel less than 30 days prior to the retreat, for any reason, we will not be able to provide a refund or credit. No refund or credit will be given for arriving late or departing early. Payments must be made in accordance with the payment schedule to secure your space. In the unlikely event that Firefly needs to cancel the retreat, a full refund will be given, less any processing fees.

Meet Your Guide: Carrie Lehtonen

Carrie Lehtonen's second chance at life came at 31 years old when a blood clot in her coronary artery resulted in a heart attack. As a healthy triathlete in the prime of her life, Carrie was the last person anyone would suspect of having heart disease.

 

After 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Carrie chose to change careers so she could help people find their path to better health and live inspired lives. Carrie is committed to reducing the impact of heart disease, and loves seeing people light up when they learn something new, challenge themselves beyond what they think they are capable of, and tap into their passion.

 

Carrie created Firefly because she believes that what the world needs most is for each person to uncover their passion and live an inspired life. We each have a unique gift, and it's Carrie's mission to help you ignite your inner light so that you can shine!

​

Carrie lives in Evergreen, CO with her husband and four fur-babies (two cats and two dogs). Carrie is a life-long learner, and loves to travel to experience different cultures and see diverse natural environments. Carrie has been teaching yoga for 10 years and leading retreats around the world for eight years.

​

Carrie is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Educator (E-RYT500) with training from CorePower Yoga and Vessilify in Colorado, Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica, and Prajna Yoga in New Mexico. She has training in vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, anatomy, Self Awakening Yoga (SAY), Yoga Therapeutics and Stand Up Paddleboard yoga. Carrie is a Holistic Health Practitioner, and attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods.
